YouthMAX Plus inspires and equips young people to value themselves and others by developing and maintaining a positive self-image, showing compassion to others, persevering in the midst of adversity, and creating a daily routine of successful attitudes and behavior. Through engaging and interactive sessions, youth of various ages will learn how self-leadership allows them to be a positive influence with their family, teachers, and peers.
The YouthMax Plus program is based on 5 leadership development lessons focused on the following messages:
YouthSTRONG helps young people (ages 8-10, 11-14, 15-18) develop a strong sense of self, manage stress, overcome anxiety and depression, develop productive habits, and make positive choices that will empower them during a crucial time in their personal development.
The Leadership Game for Teens is a game designed to help young people recognize their ability to lead, improve their self-esteem, and learn how to serve and add value to others daily. Why? Because as leadership expert John C. Maxwell says, "Teens are not the leaders of tomorrow, they of the leaders of today."
THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS ACCOMPLISH FIVE GOALS:
This program will inspire and challenge young leaders to see setbacks as opportunities – to grow, learn, and improve. Using stories about teens and adults who overcame adversity, students will apply their learning through discussions, exercises, and journaling opportunities.
What Do You Need to Make Your Dreams Come True?
Your dream has power. It can inspire you. It can empower you. In this course, young leaders will learn how to make their dreams come true. Students will crystallize their vision and galvanize their commitment to achieving their goals.
Through the YouthMAX Plus program, youth ages 8-18 will experience timeless leadership lessons that will equip them to be leaders of today. For this engaging new program, students will learn the values of perseverance, overcoming difficulties, and positive self-image that have transformed the lives of millions of youth and young adults all over the world. We are passionate about helping young people live to their fullest potential, and our YouthMAX Plus Program consists of 5 facilitator-led sessions that include presentations and activities for YouthMAX Kids (ages 8-11) and YouthMAX Teens (12-18). The YouthMAX Plus activities are designed to reinforce learning outcomes and help students develop the skills necessary to build strong relationships and add value to others.
YouthMAX is a youth leadership curriculum that teaches practical tools to help young leaders navigate life in four key areas: Stand Up & Be Counted, Achieving Success, Developing a Positive Self-Image, and Developing Strong Personal Character.
• 1 in 7 students in Grades K-12 is either a bully or a victim of bullying.
• 1 out of every 10 students who drops out of school does so because of repeated bullying.
• YouthMAX will help equip youth to take responsibility, to help others, and be a hero by righting a wrong.
• YouthMAX will equip youth to stand up, lift up and pick up others.
• Most teens believe that all failure is bad and should be avoided. In fact, failing is the most important part of success.
• Those who fear failure will not take the steps to fail forward.
• YouthMAX will provide youth with facts about failure, how to fail correctly and how to move forward to success after failure.
• Positive self-image can be the greatest determining factor in success.
• Positive self-image does not begin with what we do or what we have, it begins with who we are and who we think we are.
• Positive self-esteem helps teens cope with emotional stress; this correlates with success in later life.
• Confidence and the willingness to try new challenges can lead teens to greater academic success, earning scholarships and/or receiving other learning opportunities.
• YouthMAX will help youth understand the importance of self-image.
• YouthMAX will offer ways to develop a positive self-image through self-respect.
A survey released by the Josephson Institute of Ethics on the values and ethical actions of high school students shows:
A majority of students admitted cheating on a test, with many doing it more than two times.
Students even confessed they lied on some of the survey questions, which the Josephson Institute said is typically an attempt to conceal misconduct.
• YouthMAX will equip youth to form/build character by aligning values, thoughts, feelings, and actions to help ensure victories in their lives, both now and in the future.
• YouthMAX will reinforce the thought process that developing good character traits is the best insurance for handling difficult day’s in the future through determination rather than discouragement.
